The new generation of Range Rover Sport received an even more minimalist exterior

Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled the third-generation Range Rover Sport luxury crossover. This car is built on the modular MLA-Flex platform, which debuted in the fall of 2021 on the standard Range Rover.

The basic equipment of the third Range Sport included active air suspension and a fully controlled chassis. At low speeds, the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction of the front wheels, which improves maneuverability. At high highway speeds, the rear wheels are steered in the same direction as the front wheels - thus, the stability of the car becomes higher. The maximum steering angle of the rear wheels is 7.3 degrees.

The body structure of the new Range Rover Sport utilizes extensive use of high-strength steel, resulting in a 35% increase in torsional rigidity compared to its predecessor.

Wheelbase Range Rover Sport III is 2999 mm, which is 75 mm more than the outgoing crossover model.

From the point of view of the exterior, the model remained true to itself - a characteristic profile with a long hood, an ascending window sill line and a roof smoothly lowered towards the rear was retained. However, the shape of the outer panels has become “cleaner”, and the door handles for a natural grip are replaced by retractable ones (like other New Wave Range Rover). Other characteristic features - LED block headlights and taillights are now narrower, and the platform for the rear number has been moved from the tailgate to the bumper.

Inside, there is a 13.1-inch digital instrument panel and a Pivi Pro media system with a 13.7-inch screen.

The third-generation Range Rover Sport in European markets will be offered in six engine versions, three of which are “mild” hybrids with a starter-alternator, two are rechargeable hybrids, and one is just a gasoline version.

In the line of "mild" hybrids, the petrol version of the P400 has a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine with 395 hp, the diesel D300 and D350 have a 3.0-liter turbodiesel with a return of 296 hp. or 345 hp The hybrids P440e and P510e are equipped with 3.0-liter gasoline internal combustion engines, electric motors and lithium-ion batteries with the ability to recharge from an external network, the system develops 434 hp in the first of the variants, 503 hp in the second. At the top of the range is a petrol modification with a 4.4-liter V8 from BMW, power - 523 hp. The pure electric plug-in hybrids can travel up to 113 km.

Production of the new Range Rover Sport is being rolled out at the JLR plant in Solihill, Britain. The machine is already available for orders in Western markets.
