E.C.D. Automotive Design from Florida (USA) presented a restomod project based on the classic Land Rover Defender. Recall that the term "restomod" refers to the deep tuning of old cars, which combines the preservation of the original appearance and the processing of equipment with the installation of more modern units. In this particular case, the specialists of the tuning company, in principle, abandoned the internal combustion engine and equipped the Defender with a purely electric power plant.

Electric Defender project from E.C.D. Automotive Design is called Project Britton. According to it, the internal combustion engine, exhaust and fuel systems are removed from the car, instead a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 100 kWh and a Tesla electric motor with a capacity of 330 kW (450 hp) are installed. The drive is permanent full, the suspension is reinforced. It is specified that the Defender Project Britton has the dynamics of a sports car - from standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h) accelerates in 5 seconds. The power reserve on one battery charge reaches 352 km.

As part of the conversion, the company's specialists completely restore and repaint the supporting frame and body. The interior is upholstered in leather and fabric, decorative inserts made of natural wood are glued into the front panel, and teak flooring is in the trunk.

Separately, Project Morpheus is also prepared, which assumes the same installation as in Britton, but differs from it with reinforced axles, limited slip differentials and a redesigned interior. Inside Project Morpheus there are six seats, leather trim and a particularly powerful audio system. Such a machine is equipped with its own radiator grille, additional outdoor lighting and an expeditionary roof rack.
