Replica of the first Lamborghini Countach up close

A copy of the first prototype of the 1971 Lamborghini Countach LP500 supercar was presented at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este auto festival in Cernobbio (Italy). A video of this car "in a real environment" was posted by YouTube blogger Automotive Mike. The replica was made by Lamborghini Polo Storico, the factory division of the Italian automaker, specializing in the restoration and repair of old cars of the brand.

A copy of the first Countach impresses with the level of detail: the body panels have ideal planes and are distinguished by high manufacturing precision - the gaps between the parts are minimal. For the first time, the interior of the replica is shown - in design, materials, instruments and switches, it corresponds to the original.

Recall that the real 1971 Countach did not survive to this day, because it was crashed in a crash test in 1974. Nevertheless, the remains of the machine were used in the manufacture of a copy.

It is alleged that under the hood of the copy is a 3.9 engine with a power of 381 hp. at 8000 rpm, like all commercial Countachs, although the first crash-tested copy was equipped with a 5.0 engine.

Thanks to the video, you can appreciate how difficult it is to maneuver this car: it has neither a rear window nor side mirrors, as a result of which visibility to the rear leaves much to be desired, and due to the small angle of rotation of the front wheels, you have to turn around in several steps.

The interior of the car looks elaborate, leather is used in the upholstery of the seats, steering wheel, center console and tunnel.

The replica took 25,000 man-hours to build.
