Even true Lamborghini fans are unlikely to immediately be able to name the number of different versions of the Huracan. From now on, the assortment has been replenished with another one - STO (Super Trofeo Omologato). The Italians present it as a successor to the Huracan Performante, although the drive here is not full, but rear.
In the internal hierarchy, the novelty has risen one step above the Huracan Evo. In fact, this is the road version of the racing cars of the Squadra Corse division. And although the car can go on ordinary roads, a lot of it is focused on the track.
Most of the improvements received the body. First, now 75% of the outer panels are made of carbon fiber. Secondly, many elements are redesigned. For example, the hood, front bumper and fenders are a single element (if necessary, it leans forward), as in the iconic Miura. This is done to optimize aerodynamics.
Additional air intakes appeared on the rear fenders, one more is installed in the hood cover for better cooling. At the stern settled a huge spoiler with manual adjustment. Yes, there is not a single active element here, although Lamborghini paid special attention to them in some previous models.
Ultimately, the Huracan STO's aerodynamic efficiency increased by 37% over the Performante, while downforce increased by 53%. Plus, the new coupe is 43 kg lighter (total weight - 1339 kg).
But from the point of view of the power unit, everything is very modest. The trademark 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 still produces 640 hp, while the torque has decreased by 35 Nm, to 565. As a result, the Huracan STO turned out to be even slightly slower than its predecessor in the face of the Huracan Performante: acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is given to him in 3 seconds, the maximum speed is 310 km / h.
In the US, the Lamborghini Huracan STO will cost $327,838. Thus, the novelty is more than one and a half times more expensive than the Huracan Evo RWD.
