Lamborghini captures the frenzied demand for its products

The head of the Italian supercar manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. Stefan Winkelmann said that 2021 will be super successful for the company. Orders from the company are already scheduled almost until the end of the year.

In Europe and the US, pent-up demand has simultaneously shot out as anti-COVID restrictions ease on both continents.

Until October, the Lamborghini plant will only operate on orders already accepted, Stefan Winkelmann said in an interview with Bloomberg at the Milano Monza auto show.

Even 2020 Lamborghini ended with an excellent result, despite the global turmoil. “Despite a two-month production halt due to the pandemic, 2020 was Lamborghini's second-highest sales year ever,” Winkelmann said.

For the first quarter of 2021, Lamborghini shipments grew by almost 25% and set a new record. The company sold 1382 Urus crossovers, 753 Huracan coupes and 287 Aventadors. The largest growth in demand was recorded in the US, China and Germany.

Earlier, Volkswagen denied rumors that it intends to get rid of Lamborghini.
