On November 25, the last copy of the Gallardo supercar rolled off the assembly line of Lamborghini's headquarters in the Italian commune of Sant'Agata Bolognese, which is located near Bologna.
The final Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante, painted in Rosso Mars, will be shipped to a private customer who wishes to remain anonymous.
The Gallardo proved to be the most successful model in Lamborghini history. The supercar allowed the company to raise its average annual production from 250 to 2,000 vehicles. A total of 14,022 Gallardos were sold worldwide between 2003 and 2013. This is a significant result, given that since its founding in 1963 to the present day, the brand has produced about 30,000 supercars.
Gallardo was produced in two body modifications (with a hard top and in the open Spyder version, there was also a special version for the police), with rear and all-wheel drive, equipped with a V10 engine and repeatedly subjected to upgrades. During the latter, in particular, the working volume of the power unit increased from 5.0 to 5.2 liters, and its power increased from the original 500 hp. up to 560-570 hp The supercar has had many special editions throughout its history, including the LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni, LP 550-2 Spyder, Super Trofeo Stradale and Squadra Corse.
In 2014, the Gallardo should be replaced by a new model, which, presumably, will receive the name Cabrera.
