In 2017, the production of the Kia Stinger began, which became a fundamentally new model for the South Korean brand: previously the company had no rear-wheel drive cars with a sporty image. Three years of production is a decent amount of time, so a restyled Stinger will be released in the coming weeks. On the eve of this event, Kia Motors has published the first corporate photos of the updated model.
The nature of the changes turned out to be modest: in general, the exterior and interior remained the same. But there are still changes. All front and rear lighting fixtures received new graphics. The horizontal strip connecting the rear lights has become LED (previously it was just a reflector).
Other changes include redesigned 18- and 19-inch wheels, larger exhaust pipes and a more sculpted rear diffuser.
There are also two new color packages. The Dark Package includes a glossy black trim around the diffuser, muffler tips and Stinger lettering on the tailgate. The Black Package completes the look with 19-inch wheels in matt black, a small spoiler, black mirror caps and front fenders.
The most significant innovation in the cabin was a widescreen 10.25-inch display. The front panel and door cards are now stitched with threads, and for the center console you can choose aluminum or pseudo-carbon trim.
The Koreans are not yet talking about technical changes. It is assumed that the current turbo engines of 2.0 and 3.3 liters will be left in the past, they will be replaced by more modern and powerful internal combustion engines of 2.5 and 3.5 liters, known from the Genesis G80. On it, they develop 304 and 380 hp.
