Kia will retire the Stinger sport liftback in April 2023, with no direct replacement for the model. This is reported by the Korean edition of Auto Times, citing its sources in the company.
The reason for this decision is that consumer interest in the model has faded, especially in recent months. In the domestic Korean market, in September 2022, only 1,499 Stingers were sold, which makes it the worst-selling Kia car in the country.
In 2021, Kia design director Karim Habib said that the Kia EV6 electric crossover can be considered the ideological heir to the sports liftback.
