Kia showed the layout of the new mid-size electric crossover

Kia

Kia held an EV Day conference on March 20, and it was held in China, which is one of the largest markets for Hyundai-Kia. The event showed off last week's five-meter EV9 electric SUV and held the world premiere of a mid-size EV5 mock-up, which will also be electric.

The EV5 has a two-volume profile with a pronounced horizontal hood. The “floating roof”, complex headlights and lanterns, as well as unusual plastic transitions on the sidewalls attract attention. "Five" is made in the same style with EV9.

Doors are made typical for concept cars - there are no middle pillars of the body, and the rear ones swing open against the move.

The car will be based on a purely electric vehicle platform E-GMP and will be able to drive on one full charge up to 700 kilometers. The package will include a semi-autopilot and an automatic parking system with the possibility of remote calling.

On the way to mass production, the EV5 design project will be greatly simplified. It is assumed that the production of the crossover will be launched in November, and production will be organized only in China, from there the car will be delivered to other countries of the world.
