Kia Seltos smashed in an independent crash test. Earned five stars!

Kia

The passive safety of the new Kia Seltos compact crossover has been independently tested for the first time by the Australian association ANCAP.

The ANCAP protocol includes six types of tests:

frontal impact on a 40% overlap at a speed of 64 km / h,
frontal impact on a 100% indelible barrier at a speed of 50 km / h,
side impact with a trolley weighing 1400 kg at a speed of 60 km/h,
hitting a pole (acceleration 32 km/h at an angle of 75 degrees),
bench tests of chairs,
imitation of a collision with a pedestrian at a speed of 40 km/h.
For testing, they took the basic version of the Seltos for the Australian market. Of the security systems she has - six inflatable bags, ABS, automatic braking, lane control, tire pressure sensor. Note that while Australia and New Zealand drive on the left side of the road, Korean-made right-hand drive Seltos are shipped to those countries. Indian-assembled Celtos are imported to other "right-hand drive" countries.

The car proved to be excellent - earned the maximum possible five stars. The safety of adult passengers was rated at 85%, children - at 83%, pedestrian safety - 61%, active safety complexes - 70%.
