On June 20, Kia Motors introduced the new Seltos crossover, based on the Hyundai Creta. As expected, the car turned out to be slightly larger than Creta, but for some reason the automaker decided not to cover this aspect during the presentation and did not provide the public with any information about the exact dimensions of the car. Foreign colleagues from the Indian office of the Autocar edition have eliminated this gap by obtaining its official characteristics.
So, the length of the Seltos is 4315 mm, the width is 1800 mm, the height is 1620 mm, and the wheelbase of the crossover reaches 2610 mm. Thus, the novelty turned out to be 45 mm longer, 20 mm wider, but 45 mm lower than the Hyundai crossover, and its wheelbase is 20 mm longer, which tells us that the platform of the cars is not quite identical. Trunk volume Kia Seltos reaches 433 liters, which is 30 liters more than the Hyundai Creta. Ground clearance for cars is the same - 190 mm.
The situation with the engines also cleared up. In India, the car will be offered with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with 115 hp, a CRDi turbodiesel of the same size and power, and the top version is equipped with a 1.4-liter T-GDI four with 140 hp. In the basic versions, all cars are equipped with a 5-speed “mechanics”, a turbodiesel engine is equipped with a 6-speed “automatic” as an option, an atmospheric gasoline engine can be equipped with a 7-speed “robot”, a variator relies on a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine.
