New crossover Hyundai Mufasa

Hyundai

Based in China, the joint venture BAIC-Hyundai has shown the serial version of the Hyundai Mufasa compact crossover.

Hyundai Mufasa is built on the chassis of the current fourth generation Hyundai Tucson. The Hyundai Mufasa wheelbase is the same as the standard Tucson for the European Union and the Middle East - 2.68 m and almost identical dimensions .

In addition to being more compact than the Tucson offered in China, the Mufasa is different in style and positioning, it will appeal to a wider audience and will obviously be more affordable. The key to success among the masses is simplicity and honesty, Hyundai Mufasa follows this rule to the fullest.

The crossover engine is an atmospheric gasoline “four” 2.0 l, 160 hp, the transmission is a variator, the drive is only on the front wheels. No turbochargers, hybrid systems and other “opportunistic” things.

In terms of styling, the Hyundai Mufasa builds on Hyundai's conventionally off-road design branch and gravitates toward models like the Palisade full-size crossover. It has straight roof pillars, the profile of the sidewalls is set at almost right angles. A full-height grille and vertically oriented headlights give the high front effect of classic SUVs, while the rather avant-garde taillights in a horizontally oriented single contour set a calmer tone than the twin Tucson lights, like a sports car.

The company does not plan to sell Hyundai Mufasa outside China.
