Hyundai Motor has revealed the first official interior photo of the debut model of its Ioniq EV sub-brand, the Ioniq 5. It will debut on February 23.

Thanks to the new modular E-GMP platform, the floor of the Ioniq 5 is flat, which allows you to install an adjustable center console inside the car, making it easier for rear passengers to get in and out. When developing the interior of the car, Hyundai engineers adopted the “Resting Place” concept: eco-leather seats can be moved in different directions, in addition, they are created using Zero-Gravity technology and relax the body as much as possible during movement, unloading the spine and joints. The front seats are equipped with a comfortable footrest. Interior elements are made from materials including sugarcane, wool, polypropylene and recycled plastics. The instrument panel, combined with the media system, as well as switches, steering wheel and door panels are covered with a polyurethane bio-paint made from rapeseed and corn oils.

The technical specifications can only be guessed at, although in December 2020, the Australian representative office of Hyundai mistakenly published some information. It was alleged that the all-wheel drive version of the Ioniq 5 will receive two motors with a total capacity of 313 hp. Such an electric car will be able to accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h (60 mph) in 5.2 seconds. The power reserve will be 450 km.

The novelty will be very different from modern Hyundai. Its appearance is dominated by simple geometric shapes and straight lines inspired by the 2019 Hyundai 45 concept car.

Ioniq 5 will be able to power electrical appliances powered by 110 or 220 V (this feature is called Vehicle to Load). Ultra-fast charging is also supported: just five minutes is enough to replenish the range of 100 km on the WLTP cycle.
