Hyundai announced the Custo minivan

Hyundai Motor has announced a new model - the Custo minivan. It is named after the famous traveler Jacques Yves Cousteau. China will be the key market for the seven-seater.

So far, the South Korean company has published only a set of darkened photos. However, the appearance of Custo has not been a secret for almost a year: back in August 2020, the car was noticed in China, and then its images appeared in the database of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC.

The minivan is designed in the actual style of Hyundai. A large grille is used at the front with sections of daytime running lights integrated into it. Rear LED lights stretched along the entire width of the body. Design was handled by the Beijing Hyundai Motor JV, which was split in half between Hyundai Motor and BAIC Motor.

Custo has a two-volume body with a pronounced bow and sliding rear doors. The machine will be offered with a three-row layout. First, a seven-seat version will enter the market, then a more luxurious modification with separate second-row seats (that is, a six-seat version) will appear.

Length Hyundai Custo is 4950 mm, width - 1850 mm, height - 1734 mm, wheelbase - 3055 mm. The car turned out to be noticeably more compact than the platform Kia Carnival with a length of 5155 mm.

For the novelty in the Celestial Empire, petrol “turbo-fours” with a volume of 1.5 (170 hp) and 2.0 liters (236 hp) are certified. Both are paired with an eight-speed automatic. The drive can only be front.
