On January 8, the Chinese company Great Wall Motor (GWM) distributed branded photos of the serial version of the new Cool Dog compact crossover (“Cool Dog”), the start of sales in China is scheduled for the second half of 2022.
At home, the car will be called Haval KuGou. The novelty is the serial embodiment of the X-Dog concept, presented in April 2021 at the Shanghai Motor Show.
Cool Dog will be one step below the medium-sized Big Dog in the brand's product hierarchy. Like a colleague, the novelty is designed in a brutal style with a laconic exterior, angular shapes and simple lines.
Compared to the concept, Cool Dog has lost its retractable door handles. Otherwise, there are no noticeable differences from the X-Dog.
The overall length, width and height of the Cool Dog are 4520, 1875 and 1745 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2710 mm. The car will be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 184 hp. The type of transmission is not specified. Most likely, following the example of Big Dog, the crossover will receive a seven-speed “robot”. The maximum speed is 175 km/h.
