Former Chinese partner of Mazda will introduce a new crossover at the end of April

Haima

The Chinese company Haima will demonstrate the second-generation S5 compact crossover at the end of April at the Beijing International Motor Show. Recall that Haima is part of the FAW concern, the company was established in 1992 as a joint venture between FAW and Mazda, but in 2006 the Japanese withdrew from the shareholders of the joint venture.

Although the new Haima crossover is positioned as the second generation of the S5, in reality it is a deeply modernized version of the current model with this index, which appeared in 2014. The body frame and most of the body panels of the novelty are unified with the predecessor model, while the design of the front and rear parts of the second S5 is completely original.

The style of the front end of the new Haima is characterized by a “two-story” headlight solution and a huge radiator grille. The low and high beams are located in the bumper, and in the usual place for the headlights are the dimensions and daytime running lights. The most striking stylistic detail at the rear is the L-shaped lanterns.

The interior of the new S5 has nothing in common with the old model - there is a more refined front panel architecture and a huge display of the multimedia system.

The length, width, height of the second generation Haima S5 are 4418, 1823 and 1630 mm, respectively, the wheelbase is 2630 mm.

The range of Haima S5 engines will consist of two gasoline turbo engines: a 1.2-liter HMA GA12-YF with a capacity of 148 hp. and a 1.5-liter HMA GN15-TF with a return of 163 hp. There is no information about gearboxes yet. It is also not reported whether an all-wheel drive version of the model will be offered, or it will be produced only in front-wheel drive.
