Geely Automobile in its native China released an updated version of the Binyue crossover, with the modernization of the Chinese version of the model became known as Binyue Cool.
The Geely compact crossover was equipped with a new 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine with direct injection, its power is 181 hp, the torque is 290 Nm. The unit is combined with a new generation 7-speed preselective robotic gearbox, which is characterized by fast gear changes (0.2 seconds). The transmission was developed by Geely itself, front-wheel drive, full is not provided in principle. The new combination of engine and gearbox replaced the old combination of a 1.5-liter turbo unit with 177 hp from the range. and 255 Nm and a 7-speed DCT robot - it had worse dynamics and efficiency.
The new Binyue Cool 1.5T is characterized by high dynamic performance - acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h takes only 7.6 seconds. Gasoline consumption of the car is 5.8 l / 100 km.
Refreshed exterior and interior. Outside, the design of the front and rear parts of the body was completely changed. The car received a radiator grille and an air intake combined into a huge one-piece element, a more “emotional” shape of the front bumper, narrowed LED headlights, new hood and front fender panels, another trunk door, narrowed rear lights with a horizontal light jumper between them. At the rear, the niche for the license plate was moved lower. Added expressive spoiler and diffuser.
Due to the new bumpers, the overall length of the car has increased from the previous 4330 mm to 4380 mm.
In the cabin, the design of the front panel was modernized and screens of an increased diagonal were introduced: the dimension of the digital instrument panel is 10.25 inches, the media system screen is 12.3 inches.
Note that this restyling has become the second in four years of production of the model. The Belarusian-made Coolray offered in the Russian Federation is a model of the 2018 model (in China they stopped offering this back in 2021 - then they brought out a car with a new bumper design and an improved interior).
In China, sales of the updated Binyue Cool will start in the coming days.
