Two New Genesis Score Top in EuroNCAP Test

Citroen

The EuroNCAP Association has tested the passive and active safety of three new cars in the car market - these are the platform mid-size Genesis G80 sedan and the GV80 crossover, as well as the third-generation compact Citroen C4.

Passive safety was tested according to the 2020 protocol. According to it, the frontal crash test is carried out not on a static barrier, but on a moving towards the car. The speed of both cars and carts with an obstacle is 50 km/h each, overlap is 50%. Such a test more accurately imitates an oncoming car and allows you to check not only the traumatism of the structure for people inside, but also how dangerous the front parts are for the passengers of the second car involved in the accident.

Genesis cars earned the maximum five stars, experts praised them for the effectiveness of the airbags, including the central one between the front seats. The GV80 received the highest score for protecting people in a side impact, with the G80 only one point behind. The safety of child passengers in both models is top notch.

Citroen C4 was rated four stars out of five. Crash tests French car went well. But the standard automatic emergency braking does not recognize cyclists, which lowered the overall score.
