Extravagant crossover Citroen C5 Aircross subjected to restyling

Citroen

The Citroen C5 Aircross compact crossover, produced since 2017, has been restyled for the first time in five years of production. He touched on the version being assembled in France. The local modification of the C5 Aircross, produced in parallel in China, will be updated later.

If before the model had two-tier front optics characteristic of Citroen (Citroen was generally one of the pioneers of this style with the second-generation C4 Picasso released in 2013), now one-piece headlights are used without visual separation. Daytime running lights continue stylistically with a chrome "dotted line" on the grille.

Metamorphoses in the rear are not so global: the lanterns have retained their shape, but received a new graphic design.

The image is complemented by 18-inch wheels of fresh design.

The interior has seriously changed: in the new front panel, the 10-inch screen of the media system sticks out in the manner of a tablet, before the 8-inch integrated type was used. Ventilation vents have moved under the central display, the steering wheel has become a three-spoke, and the transmission mode selector lever has given way to a miniature lever.

There are no innovations in terms of technology, that is, in the European Union, the Citroen C5 Aircross will continue to be sold in three versions: petrol 1.2 PureTech 130 (volume - 1.2 liters, power - 130 hp), diesel 1.5 BlueHDi 130 (1.5 liters, 130 hp), as well as the hybrid Hybrid 225 e-EAT8, consisting of a gasoline engine (180 hp), an electric motor (80 kW, 110 hp), an 8-speed "automatic" and a lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 13.2 kWh. The total power of the gasoline-electric installation is 225 hp, the car can travel up to 55 km on pure electric traction, and it is possible to recharge from an external network. In all cases, the car is front-wheel drive.

Sales of the updated car in the EU will start in the summer of 2022.

The car is built on a modular platform EMP2. The length, width and height of the C5 Aircross are 4.5, 1.84 and 1.67 m. The wheelbase is 2.73 m. The ground clearance is 230 mm.
