On June 29, the French Citroen added a fundamentally new car to its range - the mid-size fastback crossover C4 X. In terms of the power frame of the body and chassis, the novelty is unified with the new Peugeot 408 presented a week ago (the brands are part of a single PSA holding as part of the Stellantis concern). Between the two crossovers there is not a single common exterior detail: the C4 X is made in the style characteristic of Citroen, and the 408 is in the Peugeot design vein.
Overall length, width and height of the C4 X are 4600, 1800 and 1525 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2670 mm. Trunk volume - 510 liters.
The new Citroen is carefully designed in terms of aerodynamics - its drag coefficient is 0.29.
The range of modifications of the novelty includes the following options:
gasoline turbocharged engine with a volume of 1.2 liters, 100 hp. + 6-speed manual;
gasoline turbocharged engine with a volume of 1.2 liters, 130 hp. + 8-speed automatic gearbox;
1.5 liter turbodiesel, 130 hp + 8-speed automatic gearbox;
Pure electric propulsion with 100 kW (136 hp) engine and 50 kWh battery.
The electric car is called e-C4 X and is capable of driving up to 360 km on one full battery charge. From a station with a capacity of 100 kW from zero to 80%, the unit can be recharged in 30 minutes. The maximum speed of the electric car is limited to 150 km / h, acceleration 0-100 km / h takes 9.8 seconds.
In all of the above modifications, the front wheels are driving; in principle, all-wheel drive is not provided.
The production of new items will be launched at the Stellantis plant in Spain, the first commercial copies will be assembled in the fall of 2022.
