On April 20, Citroen will present at the Beijing Motor Show a concept sports version of the sedan offered by the brand only in the Chinese market. The car will receive the designation DS 5LS R.
Under the hood of the Citroen sedan there will be a 1.6-liter petrol turbo engine producing 300 hp. power and 400 Nm of torque. The sports modification differs fr om the production version of the DS 5LS with an aerodynamic body kit made using carbon fiber, a stiffer suspension with a ground clearance reduced by 15 mm, as well as an extended track and a sequential gearbox. The car received leather trim and 20-inch wheels.
In addition, Citroen will beef up the sedan's brakes and chassis to match the car's increased power. The manufacturer has not yet published the dynamic performance of the sports concept.
It can be assumed that if approved for production, the DS 5LS R will only be offered in the Chinese market, wh ere the Citroen DS line is positioned as a premium sub-brand.
