Citroen celebrates 100 years with a futuristic battery-powered electric car

Citroen

In February of this year, Citroen presented an interesting Ami One concept, which showed a vision of the cars of the future for the car sharing network. Now the French have shown another concept - the 19_19 electric car, which demonstrates what cars we will travel in in the future. This development, like Ami One, is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the brand.

The design is hard to describe. On the one hand, it has R30 wheels covered with aerodynamic fenders and protruding beyond the body with Goodyear tires specially designed for this car, on the other, a teardrop-shaped windshield, which, apparently, is made in this way in order to reduce drag. Also noteworthy are the LED elements encircling the front of the car. A kind of high-tech buggy.

As for the interior, the design of the Citoen 19_19 looks even more unusual: the cabin has purple-burgundy fabric seats that are unusual due to its shape, and the ellipse-shaped steering wheel also has little in common with what can be seen in current cars, however, it the driver is unlikely to need it, because according to the idea of Citroen, this car is able to move by itself with the help of an autopilot, although the brake and gas pedals in its cabin are still saved. In the center of the front console of the concept car is a glossy ellipse with a built-in screen. Its task is to prompt the driver and passengers with information about what the car is currently doing and what requests it receives from passengers.

The technical characteristics of the electric motors of the concept have not yet been disclosed, but it is known that it can accelerate to 100 km / h in 5 seconds, and its maximum speed is 200 km / h. The power plant is powered by a large battery with a capacity of 100 kWh, which is enough to cover 800 kilometers on a single charge. Interestingly, its charging, as conceived by Citroen engineers, will be carried out wirelessly, and in 20 minutes the battery can be charged to a state in which it will provide a cruising range of 600 kilometers.

Citroen says many production cars will look similar in 10 years. And what do you think about this?
