Citroen Berlingo in the new generation has become like a crossover

Citroen

The French concern PSA has distributed photos of the third generation Citroen Berlingo. The presentation of the model will take place in March at the international motor show in Geneva. Later, the Peugeot Partner and Opel Combo built on the same base (the German brand has recently been included in PSA) will see the light of day.

So far, only the passenger version of the Berlingo has been shown, which has the prefix Multispace in the title. The design of the model has moved away from the utilitarian image and now it has become like a crossover. The look of the new Berlingo echoes other latest-wave Citroens; the lower part of the bumpers and doors are protected by impact-resistant Airbump inserts - like the Citroen C4 Cactus produced since 2014.

The interior is also made in the new Citroen corporate style, belonging to the class of light commercial vehicles gives out only the gear lever located on the center console. There are new options for the model: multimedia system, rear view camera, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control...

The third generation Citroen Berlingo has become slightly longer, wider and taller than its predecessor. The passenger version has a long-wheelbase XL modification with a third row of seats. On the second row, as before, there are three separate seats, but they can now be folded flush with the floor.

The engine range consists of a three-cylinder 1.2 Puretech petrol engine (110 or 130 hp) and a 1.5-liter turbodiesel developing 75, 100 or 130 hp. Instead of the previous single-clutch robotic box, buyers will be able to order a modern 8-speed Aisin “automatic”.
