On September 16, the Chinese Chery Automobile held a presentation of a new development - the GENE conceptual crossover. The car was shown at a special event dedicated to innovative technologies.
The main thing in GENE is an avant-garde exterior, elements of which are promised to be used on serial Chery of the next wave.
The style-forming motif is visually continuing each other horizontal headlights and taillights, which seem to encircle the car with a ring. Sidewalls with an unusual curvature in section and deliberately mismatched planes of door panels and wings attract attention. The body is painted steel gray matte paint, it has a lot of explanatory pictograms and warning labels - as if this is a military vehicle, and not a civilian vehicle.
The crossover has a pronounced two-volume body with a long hood and a squat profile. There are no central pillars, the rear doors open against the move.
Overall length, width, height Chery GENE - 5 m, 2 m and 1.75 m, respectively.
The cabin has four individual seats, each of which can be moved and rotated. The press release says that the car includes two flying drones and an electric skateboard. In addition, it is equipped with solar panels and some virtual reality capabilities.
Not a word about the power plant, it is understandable: Chery GENE is a purely design exercise.
