The luxury brand Cadillac (owned by General Motors) in February 2020 introduced the fifth generation of the Escalade full-size crossover. In the yard the second half of April, and it came to its elongated modification ESV.
An extended version in the Escalade range has been present since the second generation - since 2002. It is noteworthy that the standard Escalade is based on the Chevrolet Tahoe, ESV - on the Suburban. Because of this, they have a different wheelbase, although technically the cars are unified. The Escalade ESV is 5766mm long, 69mm longer than the previous generation and 384mm longer than the standard Escalade. The wheelbase of the Escalade ESV is 335mm longer than the regular version and 104mm longer than the previous generation Escalade ESV. According to Cadillac, generation-change rear passenger legroom is now 933mm. In the cabin, depending on the configuration, in the second row there can be either two separate armchairs or a three-seater sofa. Trunk volume is an impressive 1214 liters, with the seats of the second and third rows folded down - 3585 liters.
The rear doors of the Escalade ESV are longer than those of the regular version and have a straight vertical split, while the chrome glass molding is even (in the regular version it is curved).
From a technical point of view, no surprises: under the hood of the Escalade ESV is the third-generation L86 Ecotec gasoline atmospheric “eight”, whose power is 426 hp, the compression ratio is 11.5: 1. There is also a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder LM2 Duramax turbodiesel with 281 hp. Both motors work with a 9-speed "automatic". The rear suspension of the new Escalade and Escalade ESV is independent spring, for an extra charge you can order a car with “pneuma”.
In the US, both modifications will be on sale in the fall.
