Cadillac will replace three sedans - ATS, CTS and XTS - with one model, which will receive the CT5 index. This was reported by the news agency Reuters with reference to the head of the company, Johan de Nyson.
Cadillac plans to retire the compact ATS, mid-size CTS and full-size XTS at the same time in 2019. But individual replacement for each of them will not be done. Instead, Cadillac will release one CT5 midsize sedan, which will cost between $35,000 and $45,000 in the US.
In addition to the CT5, Cadillac intends to launch a new compact sedan that will be smaller than the existing ATS and will compete with the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA. It is assumed that the basis of this model will form the units of mass Chevrolet Cruze.
Cadillac will leave the flagship model CT6 with a price of over $50,000 in the lineup, that is, after 2019, the range of Cadillac sedans will be made up of the CT5, CT6 models and the very compact, whose name is not disclosed.
