Cadillac showed the production version of its first Lyriq electric car

Cadillac has unveiled the production version of its first electric car, the Lyriq crossover. The production version of the car differs from the show car shown in August 2020 by some simplifications that are inevitable when moving to the stage of a commercial product.

So, the front panel has lost its spectacular LED backlighting, the headlights and door handles have become larger in size, the doors now have traditional window frames, and side marker lights, which are mandatory for North America, have also appeared. Side rear view cameras have been replaced with conventional mirrors. The proportions and plastics of body panels have become less expressive. The wheel diameter has been reduced from 22 inches to 20.

The interior retains the horizontal architecture of the front panel and a 33-inch curved screen that combines a digital instrument cluster and a media system. The car is equipped with a premium audio system with 19 speakers, including built-in headrests, as well as active noise cancellation.

Cadillac Lyriq is built on GM's modular electric platform with a proprietary Ultium battery (capacity - 100 kWh). The basic configuration assumes a 4x2 formula with a rear-mounted electric motor and rear-wheel drive. Power - 254 kW (340 hp), cruising range on a single charge - 483 km.

Production of the Cadillac Lyriq will start in early 2022, in the US the car will cost from $60,000, deliveries to other countries will begin later.
