The range of sports BMW M3 of the current generation has been replenished with a new body modification - station wagon, this version is called the M3 Touring and has the code designation G81.

The current M3 has so far been built only on the basis of the 3-Series sedan, but now it has been decided to make it on the basis of the station wagon - the novelty should appeal to family consumers and lovers of road trips.

Outside, the nature of the changes relative to the standard “troika” is the same as that of the regular M3, that is, there is a sporty body kit, original fenders with extended arches, its own hood cover with a different configuration of forgings, low-profile wheels (19 inches in front and 20 in the rear), exhaust system with four outlets. A massive spoiler is installed on the tailgate of the M3 Touring. Unlike the M3 sedan, a carbon-fiber roof is not available for the station wagon, that is, it can only be steel.

The overall length, width and height of the M3 Touring are 4794, 1903 and 1436 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2857 mm. Trunk volume - 500 liters in the normal state or 1510 liters with the rear seats folded down.

Like the original M3, the passenger-and-freight variant is powered by the S58 bi-turbo inline-six petrol. Its power is 510 hp, torque - 650 Nm. Gearbox - 8-speed "automatic", all-wheel drive.

Acceleration 0-100 km / h is given to the station wagon in 3.6 seconds, 0-200 km / h in 12.9. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h, which can be increased to 280 km/h with the M Drivers package. In other words, in terms of dynamic and speed characteristics, the station wagon is almost as good as the sedan.

The novelty will be produced in small batches starting from December 2022. The cost in her native Germany will be 97,800 euros.
