The Tesla Model Y compact crossover has been expanded the range of modifications with the All-Wheel Drive design - this is a cheaper version for the USA with a new type of battery.
The Model Y All-Wheel Drive retains two motors (one per axle) and four-wheel drive. However, they are powered by a reduced capacity battery, consisting of battery cells of the new size 4680. The range on one full charge is 279 miles (446 km). For comparison, the crossover in the Long Range variant has a range of 330 miles (528 km), while the Performance has 303 miles (485 km).
The dynamics of the standard Model Y is slightly worse than the Long Range - acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (96 km / h) takes 5.0 seconds instead of 4.8. In addition, the power of the DC charger has been reduced (230 kW instead of 250 kW). Top speed is 135 mph (216 km/h).
The price of a cheaper Model Y in the US is from $49,990
