Tesla has notified the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it will block a feature in its vehicles that allows you to play video games while the car is in motion.
On December 22, the NHTSA officially launched an inspection procedure due to a dangerous feature of the Tesla media system, which significantly increases the risk of an accident. The statement noted that the problem arose after the next Tesla software update in December 2020. Shortly after the investigation began, the automaker notified NHTSA that it would change how this feature works.
The ability to turn on video games in the media system while driving covers 580,000 Tesla electric vehicles manufactured in 2017-2022. We are talking about all models - Model 3, Model S, Model X and Model Y.
