American electric car maker Tesla has entered another major market in Turkey. The company opened an official representative office and distribution center in this country. A new legal entity with an authorized capital of $3.7 million was created for the project.
The Turkish office of Tesla was headed by Emir Tunçyürek, his company E-Garaj was a large “gray” importer of American electric vehicles, and a branded service network will be created on its basis in the country.
From here, Tesla plans to expand into the Balkans - dozens of fast Supercharger charging stations will be installed in Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been eyeing the Turkish market for several years, and in December 2021 he even held a video conference with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Turkey will sell a full range of products - Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X.
