Renault will release the third generation of the Duster crossover in the European Union in 2024. The publication Autocar published some details about him, which he learned from the project manager of the new Duster, Julien Ferry.
The car, like the next generation Lada Niva, is created on the CMF-B platform. The new Duster will retain its ideology of a cheap but versatile and practical vehicle with excellent off-road capabilities in the 4x4 version.
The use of CMF-B will give the Duster access to Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi hybrid technologies. In particular, the appearance of a crossover in the “rechargeable hybrid” version is possible, according to Autocar, this version of the Duster can borrow the power plant from the new Renault Captur E-TECH plug-in hybrid (not to be confused with the Russian Kaptur). It consists of a "aspirated" 1.6, a starter-generator, a five-speed automatic transmission, an electric motor and a high-voltage battery. The total system power is 160 hp, the battery capacity of 9.8 kWh allows Kaptur to drive 50 km on a single charge on the WLTP cycle.
