Renault introduced the electric baby Twingo Z.E.

Renault

The tiny third-generation Renault Twingo hatchback was released in 2014, but only now the French company has introduced its electric version.

Visually, the "train" is practically no different from the usual version. An interesting fact: it even retains the “ear” that appeared during last year’s update for better cooling of the motor (recall, it is installed at the back).

Twingo Z.E. retained the rear-engine layout, but replaced the liter motor with an electric motor. It produces 82 hp. and 160 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 50 km/h takes about 4 seconds, top speed is 135 km/h.

The novelty received a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 22 kWh, which weighs 165 kg. A full charge should be enough for 250 km (data from the WLTP test cycle). It is noteworthy that these figures are stated for the city, while in the combined cycle the range is reduced to 180 km.

Public premiere of the Renault Twingo Z.E. will take place at the Geneva Motor Show, which opens in early March.
