The French Renault has published the first image of the new coupe-crossover Renault Rafale, which in its model hierarchy will take a step above the Renault Arkana, which has been produced since 2019.
Renault Rafale is based on the Renault-Nissan CMF-CD front-wheel drive platform and will be equipped with a hybrid transmission.
The base engine for the Renault Rafale will be a 1.2-liter petrol "troika" with a turbocharging system, developing up to 130 hp. and 250 Nm. The auxiliary electric motor in the hybrid powertrain will produce another 70 hp. and 205 Nm.
In terms of body style, the Renault Rafale, named after the Caudron-Renault C.430 Rafale sports monoplane, will differ from the Renault Austral crossover, with which it is largely unified in terms of components and details. Bright solutions are expected, such as head optics in the form of a group of separate lighting devices instead of single headlights and an unusual color scheme with contrasting elements.
The public presentation of the Renault Rafale will take place at the 54th Aviation Exhibition in Le Bourget on June 18.
