Renault finally said goodbye to the first generation Duster

Renault

The Renault Duster crossover of the first generation (code - HS) finally became the property of history - the last country where this model continued to be produced was India. On February 16, the French company announced the cessation of production of the Duster HS at its plant in Chennai (south India).

Thus, in different countries, the first generation Duster continued to be produced for 12 years. In Romania, this car was made in 2010-2017, in Brazil - in 2012-2020.

In India, the car lasted longer, since the local version of the Duster underwent a large-scale comprehensive modernization back in 2020 - a new 1.3-liter gasoline turbo engine from the Duster II, combined with a continuously variable variator, was added to the range of the car. Engine power - 156 hp

The co-platform with the Nissan Terrano Duster, which at one time was created primarily for India, was no longer produced in Chennai back in 2020. In other countries, Terrano based on the Duster was not produced.

Wherever Duster I was produced, it was replaced by a second generation model (code - HM). However, in India, the Duster II has not yet been announced - probably, Renault decided in principle to abandon the sale of such a model in this country of South Asia.
