Renault began testing the next generation Duster

Renault

Renault has begun testing the next (third) generation Duster compact crossover on public roads. A photo of a working prototype pasted over with disguise was published by Autocar. You can see that this is a full-fledged sample of the next Duster with the original body, and not a “mule” with a conditionally overcooked design from another model.

As the resource notes, the exterior of Duster in the next incarnation will be more “expensive” and charismatic. In one of the pictures, you can see that the crossover has a front end slope close to 90 degrees (when viewed in profile) and a funny “hump” stamping on the hood, which is designed to give the car more character. The light sources in the reduced-area block headlights are energy-efficient LEDs.

The body has nothing to do with the current Duster - even the supporting frame is original. The slightly “littered” rear pillar attracts attention.

The appearance of the car will echo the 2021 Dacia Bigster concept car.

Another interesting detail can be seen from the photographs - if the Duster of the outgoing sample uses lifting-type door handles, then in the next generation of the crossover in the front doors they are expected to have a natural grip, and in the rear - vertical, hidden in the corners of the frames (a la Alfa Romeo 156).

The design of the new Duster is based on the Renault-Nissan CMF-B platform. The car will be produced in standard and extended versions - in the second case, the interior will receive a three-row seven-seat layout. The five-seater version of the model will be released in 2025 - it will be offered a range of gasoline and diesel engines, no details yet.
