French Groupe Renault and Japanese Nissan Motor will officially announce a deal to reorganize their alliance on February 6, Reuters reported, citing its sources in the companies.
According to them, the heads of automakers will make this announcement in London.
Renault wants Nissan to invest in its new electric car business, while Nissan is pushing for the French to reduce their stake in it to create a more level playing field within the union. Now Nissan owns only 15% of Renault, but the French company controls 43.7% of Nissan.
