On July 7, Toyota Motor launched sales of an updated version of the Lexus UX compact luxury crossover in the domestic Japanese market. Two modifications are offered - UX200 and UX250h.
Recall that the novelty was presented in mid-May. With respect to the previous UX model, engineers added 20 additional welding points near the doorways - this increased the torsional rigidity of the body and, as a result, improved the vehicle's response to steering turns. Also, in order to increase the sharpness of control, the electric booster and shock absorbers were reconfigured.
The updated Lexus UX is equipped with 18-inch Bridgestone tires with an optimized tread that reduces noise levels. By the way, these tires are made using run-flat technology, that is, they retain the ability to ride after a puncture.
On top of that, Lexus has made improvements exclusively to the top version of the F Sport. It is now fitted as standard with Yamaha's AVS adaptive adjustable shock absorbers that provide "superb steering, stability and comfort." The design of the UX F Sport added a strut between the front suspensions and a horizontal damper in the rear (it dampens rolls).
Inside, there is an upgraded media system with an intuitive interface. The tablet-type screen has a diagonal of 8 or 12.3 inches, depending on the configuration. Added the function of voice control and software updates "over the air".
To improve ergonomics, Lexus engineers repositioned some of the switches around the instrument cluster and heated seat buttons.
When buying an F Sport, you can order the Emotional Explorer styling kit - with it, regardless of the shade of the body, the roof is painted with black lacquer, and bright red seat belts and red inserts in the seats, door cards and front panel are used in the cabin. The wheels in this version are with black alloy wheels.
The Lexus Safety System has upgraded its monocamera and radar to provide greater coverage and better detection of pedestrians and cyclists at night. Added automatic correction of the steering course in case of accidental departure fr om the lane. In addition, the crossover learned to stop on its own on the side of the road and call emergency services in a situation wh ere the driver suddenly became ill and lost control of the car.
For the Japanese market, the UX Graceful Explorer version has been added, which has a number of styling features in the exterior and interior. From the outside, it can be recognized by its body-coloured fender flares, silver grille and special brushed alloy wheels. The cabin has light brown seat upholstery, with the Graceful Explorer fitted with front seat ventilation as standard.
The UX 200 is equipped with a 2.0L petrol engine with 168 hp, CVT and front-wheel drive, 250h with a hybrid system consisting of a 2.0L engine, an electric motor, a CVT and a nickel-metal hydride battery, the total power is 181 hp ., drive - front or full.
Prices for the updated Lexus UX in Japan range from 4,003,000 to 5,533,000 yen, depending on the modification and configuration.
