In 2016, the Jeep brand introduced the Compass compact crossover, which changed generations in 2016. The company will present a restyled version of the crossover next year, but some details are already known regarding the powertrains of the novelty.
According to the Indianautosblog portal, the restyled version of the Compass will be equipped with an aluminum 1.3-liter turbocharged “four” FireFly, whose power, depending on the specification, is 150-180 hp, it will work with a 6-speed “robot” or with 9-speed "automatic" (in the 180-horsepower version). This engine will replace the cast-iron Fire MultiAir 1.4-liter turbocharged unit, which produced up to 170 hp and can already be found on the Uno and 500X models.
The Italians are also preparing a hybrid version of Compass: it was presented at the Geneva Motor Show and its total power is 240 hp.
As for the new engine, it will be produced at the Polish Fiat plant in Bielsko-Biala.
The presentation of the updated Jeep Compass will take place in early 2020.
