Jeep unveils seven concepts for the anniversary Easter trophy

Jeep

Jeep has released information about seven concept cars that the company has prepared specifically for the annual Easter trophy.

Every year, Jeep fans gather in Moab, Utah to compete on pre-marked off-road tracks. The manufacturer does not forget about brand lovers and is preparing special versions of its cars for the Jeep Easter Safari.

This year, Jeep has two round dates at once - 75 years of the brand itself and half a century - a trophy in Moab. To mark these events, the company showed seven prototypes that will be brought to the trophy. The event will take place from 19 to 27 March.

In 2015 there were also seven concepts, and in 2014 there were six.

Jeep Crew Chief 715

Perhaps the most expressive car this year will be the Crew Chief 715 pickup, which is a kind of tribute to the brand's previous military models and the Kaiser Jeep M715 in particular.

The car is built on the basis of the open serial Wrangler Unlimited with a unique appearance. The truck received steel bumpers front and rear, 20-inch wheels with military tires, a 4-inch lift kit, Dana 60 axles and winches front and rear. Under the hood of the SUV is a 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar, which works together with a six-speed "automatic".

Jeep Trailcat

The insane Trailcat concept is a cross between the Trailhawk off-road line and Dodge's Hellcat series of muscle cars. The car is a "stripped" Wrangler with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that develops 707 hp. power.

The car received a slightly longer wheelbase than the regular Wrangler, lower windows, Dana axles, Fox dampers, 39.5-inch BF Goodrich tires and Dodge Viper buckets.

Jeep Comanche

Jeep fans have long been waiting for the release of a new pickup truck from the brand, but they could hardly imagine that the manufacturer would “flirt” on this topic with the recent compact Jeep Renegade. Which, by the way, was created on the basis of Fiat.

The concept pickup truck was built on the basis of this particular model. The wheelbase of the car was increased, and the appearance was finalized in accordance with the design of classic Jeep pickups. The car also received a two-inch lift kit, a winch, 32-inch BF Goodrich tires. The car is driven by a two-liter diesel engine.

Jeep FC150

The modern version of the light truck FC 150, produced in the 1960s on the architecture of the Jeep CJ-5, was built on the basis of the Wrangler. The car is equipped with a Dana 44 front axle and a Dana 60 rear axle. The car's interior should also evoke 1960s-era vibes with vinyl seats and a headliner pattern. Under the hood is a completely authentic power plant for its time - a four-liter in-line gasoline "six" and a three-stage "automatic".

Jeep Shortcut

Shortcut is a modern version of the classic 1950s-era CJ-5 with a shorter wheelbase (minus 12 inches or 30 cm). The car received special styling reminiscent of the "ancestor", Dana 44 axles, a two-inch lift kit and Fox shock absorbers. Engine: 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar petrol.

Jeep Trail Storm

The basis for the construction of this concept was the Wrangler Unlimited. The concept is intended for expeditions and is equipped with an additional fuel tank, fender flares, lighting protection, Dana 44 axles and a two-inch lift kit. Under the hood is a 3.6-liter V6 already known from two other concepts of this year (and many production Jeeps).

Jeep Renegade Commander

The Renegade Commander concept is the company's attempt to introduce the "junior" Jeep into the brand's family of vehicles known for their off-road abilities. The compact prototype received a two-inch lift kit, 29.5-inch BF Goodrich tires, engine and underbody protection, additional lighting, and a removable center roof section. Under the hood of the Renegade Commander is a 2.4-liter gasoline engine.
