Concern Stellantis introduced a new version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV with a short wheelbase and a five-seat version. She will join the extended seven-seater modification of the L model of the fifth generation, which debuted in January of this year.
The novelty in the exterior largely repeats the older version, but differs from it in a shortened body, a different outline of the side glass line, other bumpers, a tailgate and rear wings. The body length of the short Grand Cherokee is 4914 mm, the wheelbase reaches 2964 mm. This is, respectively, 290 and 127 mm less than the three-row version.
In the interior, the five-seater Grand Cherokee also has differences compared to the extended version, except for the missing third row: the front passenger has a dedicated 10.25-inch media system screen (in addition to two more displays installed in the central and left parts of the front panel).
The short Grand Cherokee will be equipped with the time-tested Pentastar V6 3.6 petrol with 294 hp and V8 5.7 Hemi with 362 hp, but will also offer a 4xe plug-in hybrid version, which includes a 2.0-liter Hurricane turbo engine. , a battery with a capacity of 17 kWh, an 8-speed "automatic" and an electric motor. The total power of the installation is 375 hp, only on electric traction such a cross can travel up to 40 km. In the European Union, by the way, due to strict environmental standards, it is the “socket modification” that will be sold.
In the US, sales of the five-seater Grand Cherokee will begin at the end of this year.
