Jeep is preparing to recall the new Wrangler: poorly welded frames

Jeep

SUV manufacturer Jeep is preparing a recall campaign for new Wranglers - many cars have a defective weld in the place where the transverse link is attached to the frame.

In connection with the identified defect, the company even suspended sales of the Wrangler, since some potentially defective cars may still be at dealers. Approximately 18,000 sold SUVs will need to be tested, but, according to the manufacturer, only 720 copies received poor welding on the frame.

Note that since the release of the new generation Wrangler, the SUV has already been recalled five times, and one of these cases also concerned defective welding, but it was about mounting the steering shaft.

Recall that the new generation Wrangler was introduced in November 2017. The car retained its recognizable design and key design features, but became lighter and received a hybrid version.
