Toyota Yaris Cross and Isuzu MU-X perform brilliantly in ANCAP crash test

Isuzu

The Australian association ANCAP tested the passive safety of the new Toyota Yaris Cross crossover and third-generation Isuzu MU-X frame SUV. The tests were carried out on cars with right-hand drive specifications, since Australia has left-hand traffic. Both models received the maximum five-star rating.

The ANCAP protocol includes six types of tests:

Frontal impact at an angle at a speed of 50 km/h into a 1400 kg cart moving at the same speed with a 50% overlap;
Frontal impact on a 100% indelible barrier at a speed of 50 km / h;
Side impact with a cart weighing 1400 kg at a speed of 60 km/h;
Pole impact (acceleration 32 km / h at an angle of 75 degrees);
Bench tests of chairs;
Simulation of a collision with a pedestrian at a speed of 40 km/h.
The Yaris Cross in the base configuration for the Australian market is equipped with eight airbags (two of them are installed between the front seats and minimize potential head injury in side collisions), collision avoidance functions, a rearview camera, an active safety package (ABS, ESP, etc.) d.).

In the Toyota crossover, the passive safety of adult passengers was rated at 86%, children - 86%, injury safety for pedestrians - 78%, active safety systems - 82%.

Isuzu MU-X is equipped for the Australian market with eight airbags (one of them is installed between the front seats), protective curtains, driver monitoring systems and seat belt warning systems.

The safety of adult passengers was rated at 86%, children - 86%, pedestrian safety - 78%, active safety complexes - 82%.
