In Thailand, a presentation of a frame medium-sized SUV Isuzu MU-X of a new, third generation took place.
The MU-X changed generation a year after its aggregate donor, the D-MAX pickup truck. Recall that the new "Di-Max" appeared in October 2019, while in Russia the model of the previous sample continues to be offered.
The SUV is unified with a pickup truck in terms of units and a ladder-type carrier spar frame. In the rear suspension, springs are used instead of leaf springs used for a pickup truck. The body of the SUV is original, but in terms of internal elements it repeats the D-Max cabin (up to the middle pillar, of course). Also common are the view panels of the hood and front fenders.
The length, width and height of the new MU-X are 4850mm, 1870mm and 1875mm respectively, making it 25mm longer, 10mm wider and 35mm taller than its predecessor. Wheelbase - 2855 mm (+10 mm).
The exterior of the new MU-X is its own. LED headlights are narrower than D-Max, the grille has a massive frame made of polished aluminum. In the shaping of the body, the eye is drawn to the stampings around the wheel arches, thanks to which the exterior is given a brutal mood.
The front panel of the MU-X cabin is unified with the D-Max, but there are some peculiarities: for example, instead of a manual parking brake, there is an electronic one activated with a button. The transmission mode selector has been shifted to a more comfortable position (closer to the driver), and the original center console has been used.
The cabin has a seven-seater layout, the traditional landing formula is 2 + 3 + 2. The second and third row seats can be folded down.
The novelty will be equipped with the same diesel engines that are offered for the new D-Max. The base is a 1.9-liter Isuzu RZ4E-TC engine with a capacity of 150 hp. and a torque of 350 Nm. For expensive versions, a 3.0-liter Isuzu 4JJ3-TCX is designed, which produces 190 hp. and 450 Nm. The 1.9-liter unit is combined with a 6-speed "mechanics" or a 6-band "automatic", a 3.0-liter - only with an "automatic". The drive can be rear or full.
In Thailand, a new MU-X starts at 1,109,000 baht.
