The Japanese company Isuzu introduced the D-Max pickup truck of the new, third generation. The presentation took place in Thailand, we recall that the main plant for the production of D-Max is located in this country, although they are also assembled in India and China.

The third D-Max is built on a modernized platform of the current model machine. The design has remained classic for off-road pickups - there is a strong spar frame, a solid rear axle and a rear suspension with leaf springs. The cab frame is also inherited from the old car, but all the exterior panels are completely new, as the exterior has become completely different, more modern. Of the interesting features of the appearance, one can single out a huge radiator grille with two thick slats, massive wheel arches and narrowed LED headlights.

Inside, the main thing is a media system with a 9-inch display, support for Android Auto / Apple CarPlay and voice control. There was a monitoring system for "blind spots" on the sides, which also works when reversing.

The range of engines consists of two turbodiesels - a 1.9-liter RZ4E and a 3.0-liter 4JJ3. The first one was taken without changes from the outgoing model car, it develops 150 hp. power and 350 Nm of torque. The second is a modernized version of the former 4JJ1, the power has been increased to 190 hp. (+13 hp), and a torque of 450 Nm (+70 Nm). The transmission can be 6-speed manual or automatic. Drive - rear or full.

The length, width, height of the new D-Max in a two-row four-door modification are 5265, 1870 and 1790 mm, respectively, the wheelbase measures 3125 mm.

The all-wheel drive version is equipped with an aluminum alloy drive shaft, as well as a electromagnetically controlled rear axle differential lock.

It is alleged that thanks to the new steering and suspension, the car has become better controlled and more stable to drive. The unladen weight of the vehicle has been reduced due to the wider use of high-strength steels. In addition, the maximum fording depth has increased to 800 mm.

Sales of the new Isuzu D-Max will start in the coming months - first in Thailand, then in other markets.
