Infiniti to expand its lineup by 60% over the next five years

Infiniti's premium brand lineup will expand by 60% over the next five years, from the current 8 to 13 models. Michael Bartsch, vice president of the American division of Infiniti, told Autoblog about this.

In about 5 years, the Infiniti line will include eight sedans and coupes, as well as five crossovers and SUVs. The top manager of the brand did not specify details about all the upcoming models, but noted that an electric car and a new compact crossover would definitely be produced under the Infiniti brand.

It can be assumed that it was a production version of the LE concept sedan, equipped with an electric power plant from the Nissan Leaf, and a production modification of the QX30 crossover, which will be built on the basis of the Q30 hatchback.

In addition, Bartsch spoke about the brand's management plans to focus on Infiniti's sports division, which appeared in 2010, designated by the abbreviation IPL (Infiniti Performance Line). The top manager added that many subsequent Infiniti models will acquire sports performance, but so far IPL has only released modified versions of the Q60 coupe and convertible.

Note that Infiniti will present a new model at the Paris Motor Show in October, the details of which have not yet been announced. To date, the press service of the brand has distributed the only teaser image of the novelty.
