Infiniti has lost a talented designer

It looks like the Infiniti brand will change the design of its cars in the near future. At least, such a conclusion can be drawn after the head of the brand's design department has changed.

In particular, Infiniti has left Karim Habib, who has been working as the brand's chief designer since April 2017. According to the official version, he leaves to “seize other opportunities”, although it is quite possible that in the coming years the brand will begin to actively save money, because in the US market sales in July fell by 13%, the brand also has problems in Western European markets (we remember , as the failed joint project with Mercedes-Benz to produce the Q30 model). Earlier, Infiniti left Roland Krueger, who now works in the Dyson project, and Christian Meunier stayed in his post for only a few months and went over to Jeep.

Karim Habib has many successful projects on his account: BMW 7 Series, BMW X6, X3, 6 Series Gran Coupe, 5 Series, and 4 Series. At Infiniti, he worked on the Qs Inspiration, Project Black S, QX Inspiration (he broke down at the last Detroit Auto Show and was unable to go on stage on his own), as well as the QX55 crossover.

Khabib will be replaced by 49-year-old Taisuke Nakamura, who had previously been under his command. Nakamura has been with the parent brand Nissan since 1993, and has worked on a range of concepts and production vehicles: the Prototype 10, Qs Inspiration, Infiniti QX Inspiration, Emerg-e, Q30, Nissan Gripz, IMx, and the production Sentra.
