Prologue is Honda's new electric crossover powered by General Motors

Honda

Honda Motor has distributed photos of the new Prologue crossover, the feature of which is a purely electric power plant (an option with an internal combustion engine is not provided in principle).

This off-road vehicle is the fruit of cooperation between the Japanese company and General Motors. The design of the Prolog is based on the Ultimum platform developed by the American concern. Recall that the Chevrolet Blazer EV and Cadillac Lyriq already rely on this base (the Honda Prologue has nothing to do with them in terms of bodywork).

The target market for the new Honda crossover is the United States and Canada, so its design was developed in the North American Honda Design Studio, located in Los Angeles.

Prologue belongs to the mid-size class, the overall length, width and height are 4877, 1989 and 1643 mm, respectively, the wheelbase is 3094 mm. It is noteworthy that in terms of the distance between the axles, the “Japanese” exactly repeats the Blazer EV and Lyriq mentioned above. The large wheelbase relative to the body promises a solid supply of legroom for rear passengers.

The exterior of the car is made in a new style vein, which Honda marketers call the word Neo-rugged, which literally translates as “neo-rugged”. The characteristic features of the appearance of the Prologue are “clean” sidewalls, headlights and taillights combined horizontally, as well as massive wheels (21 inches).

The cabin uses an 11-inch digital instrument panel and a media system with an 11.3-inch screen mounted on top of the front panel.

Honda promises to reveal technical details about the new product in the coming months. It will not go into mass production soon - in 2024.
