Honda Motor introduced the second-generation WR-V budget crossover. The novelty has replaced the car of the same name, produced since 2017.
The model is made on the basis of Honda Amaze subcompact sedan, unified with it in terms of load-bearing and external body panels (frame up to the B-pillar, hood, front fenders and doors). Amaze has been produced since 2018 - at the Indian Honda Motor plant, sold in India itself and in some neighboring developing countries.
The overall length, width, height of the new WR-V are 4060, 1608 and 1780 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2485 mm. Ground clearance reaches 220 mm, trunk volume is measured 380 liters. The salon accommodates four adults.
The exterior of the car, behind a number of simplifications, repeats the SUV RS concept car, shown exactly a year ago.
The crossover will be equipped only with a 1.5-liter L15ZF gasoline engine with 119 hp. and a torque of 145 Nm. It is combined with a continuously variable variator and front-wheel drive, a 4x4 transmission is not provided.
If a diesel unit is offered in the previous generation, then it will not be in the new one.
In expensive trim levels, the crossover will be equipped with six airbags, a preventive safety complex (including automatic emergency braking), the ability to remotely turn on the engine and air conditioning.
In addition to the basic configuration, they will offer an RS variant with sporty notes in the exterior, a contrasting roof color and 17-inch wheels.
The production of the new Honda WR-V is carried out in Indonesia, the target market for the car is Southeast Asia. The price in the Indonesian market is from 272,000,000 local rupees
