Great Wall Motor has filed a patent for a car with an unusual exterior - a four-door sedan with a retro look, and the design refers to a specific historical example - the legendary Japanese Nissan Skyline 2000 GTR of 1969. The original, however, had a “two-door coupe” body, but the compositional solution of the radiator grille and four round headlights, as well as the proportions, deep wheel arches and some other details of the “Chinese” clearly resemble the 2000 GTR.
According to preliminary information, the patented sedan is a pure electric car, and it will be released under the WEY subsidiary brand. There are no other details yet.
It should be noted that Great Wall Motor has no complexes regarding the use of foreign cultural heritage: an electric car with a design similar to the Volkswagen Beetle will soon appear in its range, its style, however, had to be slightly moved away from the prototype due to warnings from VW about a lawsuit. The company also mass-produces the Tank 300 off-road vehicle, which resembles the classic Japanese Toyota Land Cruiser J40 and the Chinese BAIC B212 with its front design.
